REVIEW: Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray

Hello, lovelies!

I love trying new setting sprays. I usually set my makeup with MAC Fix+ but decided to try Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Setting Spray about two months ago. After one use, I knew this product would become an integral part of my makeup kit. Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Setting Spray is the main product I set my makeup with each day and I’ve completely fallen in love with it!

The Packaging

I adore the packaging of Urban Decay’s Setting Spray! The spray comes in a round bottle with a nozzle for easy use. The packaging itself features a sleek, matte black colour with the Urban Decay logo and the product name embossed on it. I love the swirled, light purple lettering on the bottle. This bottle is lightweight and easy to travel with.

The Mist

The weightless mist feels refreshing on the skin. It is formulated with a unique Temperature Control Technology that lowers the temperature of makeup to increase its longevity. The mist does not feel heavy when spritzed onto the skin and dries down completely when applied. It is completely transparent and does not leave any residue when applied. The product has a pleasant cooling sensation when sprayed into the skin, owing to the mist’s unique Temperature Control Technology.

The Wear

Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Setting Spray has revolutionized my makeup routine. It sets my makeup for the entire day, and my makeup does not fade or crease. Further, the product doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin! I spritz the product onto my skin in the morning and my makeup stays vibrant for 10-12 hours.

How to Use It

Shake the bottle well before use. Hold the bottle a few inches away from the face and mist the skin 2-4 times in an X and T formation then allow to dry. I also regularly apply this product to my eyeshadow brushes before use to intensify the colour of shadows.

Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Setting Spray has revolutionized my makeup routine. The spray increases the longevity of makeup, refreshes my skin and makes my makeup look vibrant and fresh! The spray is available in multiple sizes at Sephora. The mini sized bottle retails for $19, the standard sized bottle retails for $40 and the jumbo-sized bottle retails for $50.

3 Tips to Effortlessly Apply Liquid Lipstick

Hello, lovelies!

I adore liquid lipstick! The fluid formulas are opaque like traditional lipsticks, but last longer and dry to a matte, transfer-proof finish. Liquid lipstick can be tricky to apply at first, so I’m sharing my favourite tips to help make the application a breeze!

1. Prep your lips

This step is crucial, since most liquid lipsticks are drying. I always like to exfoliate and moisturize my lips before applying a lip liner to ensure that my lipstick has maximum wear.

2. Use less product than you think you need

It is better to start with a small amount of product then add more as needed. This will make it easier to apply additional lipstick without your lips feeling caked or dry.

3. Avoid lip balm

Lip balm tends to breakdown liquid lipstick. Rather than applying lip balm throughout the day, you should apply it during your lip prep.

What are your favourite tips to apply liquid lipstick?

REVIEW: Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette

Hello, lovelies!

Urban Decay released a new eyeshadow palette earlier this summer called Born to Run. This palette has been an essential component of my makeup collection and it’s enabled me to create an array of eyeshadow looks – from soft to smoky to colourful. I wanted to test this palette for a few months before reviewing it and it’s definitely been a worthwhile purchase!

The Packaging

The packaging of this palette is beautiful! The palette is sleek and compact but it feels heavy when held. The outside of the palette features a collection of photographs from destinations including a tropical beach, Paris, London’s Big Ben clock, and a forest. This collection of photographs truly represents the ‘born to run’ theme of the palette. The inside of the palette includes a large mirror and an array of 21 eyeshadows.

The Formula

Each eyeshadow is creamy, easy-to-blend and pigmented. There is no fallout present with these shadows and they can be applied dry or with a damp brush to intensify the pigment. This palette contains a combination of matte and metallic shadows.

The Shades

The shade range in this palette is versatile, ranging from matte coral to shimmery bronze, grey, pink and forest-green. Shades within this palette include:

  • Breakaway – Warm ivory shimmer
  • Stranded – Pale gold with a rose shimmer
  • Blaze – Light metallic gold with a peachy undertone
  • Weekender – Matte beige
  • Still Shot – Matte coral
  • Riff – Matte brown with a nude undertone
  • Good As Gone – Dark brown with a iridescent micro-shimmer
  • Hell Ride – Matte fuchsia
  • Baja – Matte brunt orange
  • Accelerate – Metallic coppery-red
  • Guilt Trip – Grape-purple with shimmer
  • Ignite – Metallic rose-gold with copper undertones
  • Smog – Deep copper bronze with shimmer
  • Wanderlust – Forest green with gold micro-shimmer
  • Wildheart – Matte bright fuchsia
  • Punk – Brown with red-copper undertones
  • Double Life – Metallic rust
  • Jet – Shimmering black
  • Drift – Satin charcoal with silver micro-shimmer
  • Radio – Satin teal-blue with micro-shimmer
  • Big Sky – Frosted green shimmer with gold sparkle

The Wear

When each shadow is applied to the lid, it wears comfortably and doesn’t crease, fade, or flake throughout the day. I’ve worn these shadows for 10-12 hours without experiencing any smudging or flaking. I love that the shadows within this palette are wearable for everyday looks, or bold for a night time look.

Urban Decay’s Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette is a great palette if you are looking for a versatile collection of shades, or a palette that is travel-friendly. It retails for $59 at Sephora.

  • 3 Looks, 1 Palette: Urban Decay Born to Run

    Hello, lovelies!

Urban Decay recently released a new palette, called Born to Run. Once I saw the shade range, I knew it would be a versatile palette for day-to-night wear! I’ve created various looks with this palette, but here are three that I recently created:

    Look #1

I began this look by priming my eyelids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I blended the shade Weekender, a light beige matte, into my crease. I blended Baja, a matte burnt orange, into Weekender, I added the shade Still Shot, a bright peach, on top of Weekender + Baja and blended. Next, I applied Hell Ride, a deep fuchsia, into the crease. I used a smaller blending brush to apply Good as Gone (a deep brown with shimmer) to the inner corner of my lid. I fused Jet, a satin black, into the brown shade. I also applied this shade to my inner corner. To complete the look, I pressed Double Life, a copper-bronze shimmer, into the centre of my eyelid.

    Look #2

I primed my eyelids with concealer before sweeping Breakaway, a warm ivory shimmer, across my entire lid. Next, I applied Riff, a brown matte, to the outer corner of my lid. I blended that shade up into my crease with a fluffy blending brush. I applied Baja, a matte burnt orange, to the outer corner of my lid and blended. I gently pressed Breakaway into the centre of my lid, before applying Big Sky, a frosted teal, to the outer corner.

    Look #3

After priming my eyelids, I swept the shade Blaze into my crease. Blaze is a light metallic pink with a peachy undertone. I pressed Drift, a charcoal satin with micro-shimmer, into my outer corner using a flat shadow brush. I completed this look by applying the shade Wanderlust (a forest green) on my eyelid.

REVIEW: Anastasia Beverly Hills Pink Matte Lipstick Set

    Hello, lovelies!

I typically only wear liquid lipsticks from Anastasia Beverly Hills. However, when the brand announced release of new mini matte lipstick sets, I knew I had to try one! I bought the Pink Matte Lipstick set recently. The set of four mini lipsticks come in a variety of gorgeous pink and berry shades for summer.

    The Packaging

Each lipstick is encased in a sleek bullet that features a black and metallic-gold design. The top of each bullet bears the Anastasia Beverly Hills logo. The lipsticks are lightweight, small, and travel-friendly.

    The Shades

This set contains a beautiful combination of four pink shades:

    Cotton Candy – Bubblegum pink

Orchid – Magenta with purple undertones

    Plumeria – Deep plum

    Stargazer – Bright hibiscus pink

    The Wear

Before buying this set, I’d never tried a matte lipstick from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I was curious to compare the formula to the brand’s liquid lipsticks! The lipsticks glide smoothly onto the lips, and set to a matte finish that doesn’t feel drying. The formula wears for 4-5 hours without fading.

This lipstick set is a travel-friendly combination of summery colours. The size of each lipstick is small, but it is ideal for tossing into my purse each morning! Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Matte Lipstick Sets retail for $21 at Sephora. The set is also available in nude shades.

    REVIEW: Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara

    Hello, lovelies!

I often try new mascara brands, and I was excited to receive a sample of Urban Decay’s Troublemaker Mascara. This product is a gorgeous, lengthening mascara.

    The Packaging

The mascara comes in a unique, geometric tube. It is lightweight, and a kaleidoscope of color. The mascara wand contained inside features soft, rounded bristles.

    The Wear

I adore this mascara! The bristles are thin, making it easy to apply the product to my lashes. This mascara applies well, but I must note that it tends to flake after multiple hours of wear. I’ve noticed that it lasts longer if I apply a primer before, and this adds extra volume to my lashes. One of my favourite aspects of the mascara is that it is easy to remove at the end of the day.

Urban Decay’s Troublemaker Mascara is a fun, unique product. It is the main mascara I use, and it is a great everyday product. This mascara retails for $24 at Sephora.
