I’ve recently begun wearing bronzer regularly, and it adds warmth and dimension to my skin. I bought Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer shortly after release and I’ve worn it all season to sculpt my face. This bronzer is the perfect matte formula to wear throughout the spring and summer seasons!
The sleek compact contains the bronzer and a mirror. It is slightly weighted, which gives the product a luxurious feel. The bronzer is pressed into the compact, which means there is no fallout when it is opened. Like all Anastasia Beverly Hills products, the outside of the compact bears the ‘Anastasia Beverly Hills’ logo.
Anastasia Beverly Hils Powder Bronzer has a matte finish. The bronzer is finely-milled, and it does not have a tacky or chunky texture. It feels soft when applied to the skin and it blends easily. A little product goes a long way, and you only need to apply a small amount to achieve full-coverage.
I rarely shop for bronzers because it is difficult to find a shade that is not too dark for my pale skin tone. However, the shade range of Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer is ideal for a variety of skin tones. I bought the shade Rich Amber, a neutral honey. On my skin, the shade is a mid-tone brown with honey undertones.
The bronzer is available in 6 shades:
- Cappuccino – Deep golden-brown
- Mahogany – Rich mocha
- Rich Amber – Neutral honey
- Rosewood – Light golden
- Saddle – Golden amber
- Tawny – Light terracotta brown
Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer is a perfect product to add a subtle dimension to the cheekbones and face. I use it for contouring and it pairs beautifully with blushes and highlights. Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer retails for $36 at Sephora.
Makeup trends traditionally leaned toward bronzed skin, coral lips, and gold eyelids. The common trends this season are beginning to change. For summer 2017, pastels and graphic cool tones are popular. Each colour trend is versatile. The colours are perfect to wear subtly or enhanced.
Coloured eyeliner makes the eyes pop. The colour white gives the eye a crisp, fun look. White eyeliner is versatile to wear with coloured eyeshadow or your favourite earthy shades. Sephora offers various white liners. My favourites include: Sephora Collection Colourful Wink-It Felt Liner and Nars Velvet Eyeliner.
Summer is encapsulated in this trend. A sunset eye features warm hues reminiscent of a summer night sky. This trend is bold but wearable by toning down makeup on the rest of the face. To achieve a sunset eye, mix warm shades like red, burnt orange, and yellow.
This trend is inspired by shine and metallics. Core colours used to create this makeup look include silver, pink, blue and lilac. Holographic makeup is reminiscent of princess sparkle and prisms. This hue is featured in highlighter, eyeshadow and eyeliner. My top holographic picks from Sephora include: Kat Von D Alchemist Palette and Milk Makeup Holographic Stick.

I recieved a sample of Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer at Sephora a few weeks ago. This bronzer is a product that combines natural cocoa with the company’s signature bronzing pigments. It smells chocolately and delivers a soft, bronzy glow.
This bronzer is pressed in a small black compact with Too Faced embossed on the cover. It is a slim compact that does not include a mirror. The compact also features a texturized, dotted design around the edges. When you open the cover, the delightful chocolate scent emerges.
Because of the drier finish, the bronzer gives the skin a matte finish. It isn’t creamy or soft, but it gives the skin a light bronzy glow.
How to Use It
I apply it with an angled blush brush to softly blend it into my skin without dispensing a lot of product. I blend it into my temples, underneath my cheekbones, and the edges of my chin to contour. I use this bronzer when I wish to achieve a lightly bronzed look. In comparison to Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer, this one is not as intensely pigmented.
This bronzer is perfect for giving the skin a pop of colour without overpowering the natural skin tone.

Anybody who knows me will know that I’m Casper-pale, especially during the winter. I often brighten my complexion with highlight powder, blush, or bronzer. I received Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer as a Christmas present. I’ve used it regularly to enhance my complexion.
The bronzer is in compact-style package. One side of the container holds the bronzer palette. A small brush fits into the top side of the container. The package design features bamboo and a deep pink colour.
The Hoola bronzer is available in a single colour. The product is matte, and
pigmented. The pigmentation of the bronzer is strong. If you have paler skin, like me, I suggest blotting the brush on a tissue after dipping it into the container. This lets you build the colour, and tap off any excess. The colour is soft, and adds a bronzed, golden colour to the skin.
