REVIEW: Huda Beauty Lip Strobe

Hello, lovelies!

I adore Huda Beauty products. I regularly wear liquid lipsticks from the brand, but recently tried the Lip Strobe products. I’m not the biggest fan of lip gloss, but I do occasionally apply it on top of lipstick for a shiny, iridescent lip look. At first swipe, this metallic lip gloss stole my heart.

The Packaging

The packaging of each Lip Strobe is stunningly beautiful. The glosses feature a glossy black cap with a clear tube that displays the colour of each gloss. I adore the doe foot applicator of this gloss – it is slightly curved and tapered to allow for precise application.

The Wear

My favourite aspect of this gloss is that it is hydrating when applied. It does not feel sticky, clumped or drying once I apply it to my lips. It lasts for 1-2 hours on my lips without eating or drinking, but it will fade quicker than a liquid lipstick.

How to apply it

Swipe the gloss onto the lips 1-2 times until the desired level of coverage is achieved. The gloss can be worn alone, on top of lip liner or lipstick. My favourite ways to apply Huda Beauty’s Lip Strobe is to wear it on top of lip liner for a shiny, voluminous look or on top of lipstick for a strobed effect.

The Shades

This collection of glosses features 12 shades:

  • Posh – A semi-sheer white gold
  • Enchanting – A semi-sheer prismatic white with pink reflect
  • Ritzy – A semi-sheer champagne with gold and pink shimmers
  • Snobby – A semi-sheer light pink with gold and pink pearls
  • Angelic – A light peach rose with gold reflect
  • Boujee – A full-coverage coral base with thin gold shimmers
  • Shameless – A chameleon sheer base with gold and pink pearls
  • Saucey – A full-coverage muted red ochre with gold and pink pearls
  • Foxy – A full-coverage copper
  • Mystical – A semi-sheer lilac with blue pearls
  • Fearless – A full-coverage purple with copper-gold reflect
  • Moody – A full-coverage violet with chromatic shimmer

Huda Beauty’s Lip Strobe is a beautiful lip gloss that offers a versatile range of finishes from sheer to full-coverage. I love that each shade can easily coordinate with any eyeshadow look depending on the level of coverage you seek! Each Lip Strobe retails for $24 at Sephora.

REVIEW: Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes

Hello, lovelies!

Huda Beauty recently released a collection of mini eyeshadow palettes in a wide variety of shades. I bought numerous palettes from Sephora and was excited to see how it compared to the brand’s traditional palettes!

The Packaging

The eyeshadow palette is small and travel-friendly. The shadows are enclosed in a compact that includes a square mirror. The outside of the palette contains the Huda Beauty logo and photos of each eyeshadow within the palette. The palette features a matte black colour that pops against the coloured designs on each palette.

The Wear

The eyeshadow formula is creamy and pigmented. The mattes do not feel chalky or stiff, and the shimmers are bright. The shadows do not flake or crease throughout the day.

The Palette Options

Huda Beauty originally released the Obsessons Palettes in 2017. In September 2018, the brand expanded the collection to include the Precious Stone Obsessions Palettes. The entire collection features 10 palettes. I own the Warm Brown Obsessions and Amethyst Gemstone Obsessions Palette. Other palettes include:

  • Gemstone Obsessions – A combination of creamy, metallic and duochrome shadows. This palette features ruby, sapphire and emerald shades.
  • Coral Obsessions – A combination of matte and shimmer shades. This palette features bright, warm colours that include hot pink, burnt orange and rust-red.
  • Warm Brown Obsessions – Features copper, warm-brown and deep red matte shades.
  • Mauve Obsessions – This palette contains a combination of matte and shimmer shadows. This palette features soft plum, violet and dusty rose shades.
  • Electric Obsessions – Features bold matte and shimmer shadows in shades that include hot pink, bright yellow and teal.
  • Smoky Obsessions – A combination of matte and metallic shadows. The shades include carbon-black, shimmering gold, and silver.
  • Amethyst Obsessions – A combination of matte and metallic shadows that include mauve, sparkling amethyst, and bubblegum pink.
  • Topaz Obsessions – A combination of creamy matte and metallic shadows that include tan, orange, turmeric and sparkling gold shades.
  • Emerald Obsessions – This palette contains matte and shimmer shadows in varying shades of green.
  • Ruby Obsessions – This palette contains matte and metallic shadows in shades that range from ruby-red to sparkling champagne
  • Sapphire Obsessions – A combination of matte and metallic shadows that are mainly blue-toned with pops of silver and lime-green.

If you are looking for a fun, travel-friendly eyeshadow palette I’d highly recommend the Obsessions Palettes from Huda Beauty! Each individual palette retails for $35 at Sephora.

Erin Angela’s Latest Sephora Sale Haul

Hello, lovelies!

Sephora’s annual spring sale took place recently. I always tell myself that I don’t need to buy any new products, but I needed to stock up on my beloved Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. Along with the mask, I decided to test out new skincare products and quickly filled my cart. Here’s a peek into my spring Sephora VIB Sale haul!

Laneige Good Night Kit

I repurchased this kit for the second time because Laneige’s masks are an integral component of my daily skincare routine. This kit contains samples of the brand’s Water Sleeping Mask and Lip Sleeping Mask. My skin and lips have felt incredibly dry lately due to the cold, drier weather and both masks have helped hydrate my skin like nothing else I’ve tried.

Sephora Collection Brightening Eye Creme

After testing a sample of Olehenriksen’s Banana Bright Eye Creme, I loved how soft, smooth, and hydrated my under eye area became. I usually never wear eye cream, it quickly became another step in my skincare routine. This mask contains caffeine to depute the eyes, hyaluronic acid to increase moisture retention, and mudar plant bark extract to reduce aging. I’m excited to try the gel-cream formula in comparison to the Banana Bright Eye creme.

Huda Beauty Kay Ali Elixir Sample

I enjoy trying new fragrances and quickly added this sample of Huda Beauty’s Kay Ali Elixir to my cart. I’ve never tested a fragrance from Huda Beauty, but am a devoted fan of the brand’s eyeshadows, lipsticks, and concealer. According to Sephora, this fragrance boasts warm, sweet floral notes with hints of jasmine and rose.

Pat MacGrath Labs Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Set

I’m eager to try a product from Pat McGrath Labs! I never say no to a gorgeous red lipstick, and this adorable mini set contains three lipsticks in various shades of red. This set contains the shades Elson, Obsessed!, and Full Panic. Each lipstick appears to be matte, long-wearing and pigmented but stay tuned for a full review.

REVIEW: Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

Hello, lovelies!

Huda Beauty released a beautiful new eyeshadow palette last month. The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette is the perfect palette to create versatile nude eyeshadow looks with pops of glitter and sparkle. I adore the neutral, yet colourful, combination of shades within this palette and how the shadows can quickly transform my look from day to night!

The Packaging

The packaging of this palette is beautiful and sophisticated. The outside of the palette features a graphic of Huda Kattan’s eyes along with a monochromatic eyeshadow look. I love that the light colours used on the palette – a combination of baby pink, light beige, and peach are reminiscent of the shadows within. The palette bears the ‘Huda Beauty’ logo, features a large mirror and contains 18 shades.

The Eyeshadows

Each eyeshadow is pigmented and blends easily. The palette contains a unique mixture of versatile duo-chrome, matte, glitter, and pressed pigment finishes. I wear these shadows for 10-12 hours without experiencing any fallout. I blend the matte shadows with a brush and apply the duo-chrome and pressed pearl shadows with my finger for maximum colour payoff. The pure glitter shadows apply best with a glitter glue.

The Shades

Huda Beauty’s New Nude Eyeshadow Palette contains 18 shadows:

  • Bare – Matte cream
  • Crave – Multi-reflective pink champagne
  • Play – Matte peach
  • Fantasy – Multi-reflective rose
  • Love Bite – Matte purple with a pink undertone
  • Spanked – Matte cranberry
  • Lace – Matte pale pink
  • Daydream – Multi-reflective pale pink with silver undertone
  • Tickle – Matte salmon
  • Excite – Deep red glitter
  • Infatuated – Golden copper glitter
  • Kinky – Metallic cranberry
  • Concealed – Creamy concealer base
  • Secret – Matte burnt orange with pink base
  • Tease – Matte taupe
  • Raw – Matte warm rose
  • Charmed – Multi-reflective rose gold
  • Teddy – Matte warm caramel

Huda Beauty’s New Nude Eyeshadow Palette is versatile, eye-catching and sophisticated. It offers a combination of shadow finishes to create an array of eye looks. The palette retails for $85 at Sephora.

Erin Angela’s Top 4 Eyeshadow Palettes

Hello, lovelies!

Eyeshadow is a staple in my makeup collection. There are certain palettes that I gravitate towards, and create versatile eyeshadow looks with them. Here is a peek into my top four favourite eyeshadow palettes!

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam

The Soft Glam Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills is an essential palette for neutral, smoky eyeshadow looks. I wear this palette whenever I want to create a soft smoky eye. My favourite shades in this palette are ‘Rose Gold’ and ‘Cyprus Umber’.

2. Urban Decay Born to Run

This is one of the most used palette in my collection. The combination of neutral matte shades, glittery metallics and pops of colour make this a versatile palette for every type of eye makeup look. I wear this palette a few times per week.

3. Huda Beauty Obsessions

I love travelling with my Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette! Though the palette only contains 9 eyeshadows, the orange, brown and burgundy shades enables me to create a variety of looks. I used this palette for an entire week while on vacation last month, and achieved a variety of eyeshadow combinations!

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina

The Norvina Palette is a beautiful, cool-toned eyeshadow palette for the fall and winter seasons. I wear the mauve, lavender and shimmering shades for special occasions and daily events. I often pair the cool-toned shades with bright, bold lipstick shades.

4 Essential Beauty Products to Travel with This Season

Hello, lovelies!

The inspiration for this post came while I was sorting through my makeup collection. With summer approaching, I began to consider which items in my collection are travel-friendly and compact. Here’s a list of my favourite beauty products to travel with this season!

1. Tarte Cosmetics Hamptons Weekender Contour Palette

I typically travel with separate blush, contour and highlight compacts. This set is ideal for travel as it contains all three makeup products in a single compact. It is lightweight and small enough to place in my handbag.

2. Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette

Full-sized eyeshadow palettes can be difficult to travel with. Huda Beauty’s new Obsession Eyeshadow Palettes contain 9 pans of shadow, and a mirror for travel. I love that these eyeshadow compacts are versatile and lightweight.

3. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Mini

I love packing mini mascara tubes in my makeup bag when I travel. I’ve used mini tubes of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara for a few months now and they are quick and easy to apply.

4. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Mini

Laura Mercier’s iconic setting powder usually comes in a heavy jar. I was delighted to find a travel-sized jar during my latest Sephora trip. This mini version of the powder is small in size, and lighter than the full-sized jar. This is a perfect travel-friendly setting powder if you don’t like travelling with full-sized jars of loose product.
