Erin Angela’s October 2018 Sephora Haul

Hello, lovelies!

I recently shopped at Sephora after a two-month no-buy period. The purpose of my trip was to replace my holy-grail cleanser but I added a few other surprises to my shopping cart that I’m sharing in today’s blog post!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and Complexion Prep Spray Duo

This duo is part of Urban Decay’s holiday collection and features a travel-sized duo of the brand’s All-Nighter Setting Spray and Complexion Prep Primer Spray. I wanted to try Urban Decay’s iconic setting spray for a while now, and instantly loved it after testing it yesterday! This set is great to travel with.

Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner

I’ve always used Bite Beauty lip liners but decided to try one from Smashbox after unsuccessfully finding my favourite shade in store. To my surprise, I love this lip liner! It is creamy and long-wearing. I bought the shade Nude Light, which has a beige-pink undertone. I tested it yesterday and my lipstick did not budge for hours!

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse

I repurchased this cleanser from Tatcha. This has been my main skincare product for a few months, and my skin has become clear and smooth. I adore this cleanser as it does not dry out my skin.

Bite Beauty Agave Treat Trio Mini

This mini Agave lip mask set was an impulse buy. This set comes with three mini tubes of Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Masks in the shades Natural, Maple and Candy Cane. I apply lip masks and balm regularly throughout the fall and winter months and can’t wait to test these out.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick Sample

I received a lipstick sample from Make Up For Ever. The shade is a beautiful Rose-tones pink. This lipstick is creamy and pairs well with dark or light eyeshadow.

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrator Sample

I’ve received many samples of Clinique’s Moisture Surge moisturizer before, and adore the soft, supple hydration that the product gives my skin.

REVIEW: Make Up For Ever Liquid Lipstick

Hello, lovelies!

adore liquid lipstick. I own various lipstick formulas in the classic bullet style, but I always prefer the liquid version. Make Up For Ever introduced a 6-shade Artist Liquid Lipstick range this past spring. This is the first product I’ve tried from the brand, and was excited to receive a sample of the lipstick!

The Packaging

These lipsticks come in a standard lip gloss tube. The doe-foot applicator is easy to use, and it applies the product precisely onto the lips. Despite the clear tube, the lacquered black cap and MUFE Logo add a touch of elegance. Because I own a sample of the lipstick, it is compact and lightweight.

The Formula

The lipstick is soft and creamy. It sets to a completely matte finish that is not drying on the lips. It has a soft vanilla scent, which I enjoy. The texture of this lipstick is smooth and feather-light. I do not experience any patchiness or dryness when I wear this lipstick.

The Colour

I own the shade 105 – Rosewood. I adore the shade. It is a soft nude with pink-mauve undertones. I prefer nude lipstick shades with hints of pink or red in the undertones. It is a beautiful colour to wear with darker eyeshadow. One thing to note about the colour: Each shade dries a bit darker than it appears in the tube.

I was interested to test how long this liquid lipstick lasts on my lips compared to other brands I own. Even with eating/drinking throughout the day, it lasts 7-8 hours without smudging! It also does not flake or crack once applied.

Make Up For Ever Liquid Lipstick is available in 15 shades:

  • 101 – Cream Beige
  • 103 – Warm Beige
  • 105 – Rosewood
  • 107 – Neutral Beige
  • 109 – Praline
  • 201 – Fresh Pink
  • 203 – Cold Pink
  • 205 – Mauve Pink
  • 207 – Raspberry
  • 301 – Rust
  • 401 – Red
  • 403 – Deep Red
  • 501 – Purple
  • 503 – Deep Plum
  • 505 – Blackcurrant

This is a great, smudge-proof liquid lipstick. It retails for $25 at Sephora.

The Best Highlighter Trends for Spring/Summer 2017: A Comprehensive Guide to This Beauty Trend

Hello, lovelies!

Highlighter entered the beauty world with a bang this year. Sephora introduced highlighting as their Trending at Sephora theme for the upcoming spring and summer season. New highlighter products and trends include a variety of finishes, glows, and textures. I’d like to introduce you to the types of glow you can achieve, and top products to help you get there!

What is Your Glow?

Three categories of highlighter products are Shimmer, Dewy, and Holographc:

  • SHIMMER: Shimmer products use pearlized pigments to create luminescence
  • DEWY: Reflective pigments add gloss for a radiant and luminous finish
  • HOLOGRAPHIC: This type of glow uses multicoloured pigments

Product Suggestions:

Most products are available as a palette. Sephora also carries fluid highlight products that are liquid based.
